Step 2. Install the package with your faviourite package installer, for example – on Fedora I have opened the .rpm package with Yumex and it stated the installation. You can use ‘Gdebi Package Installer’ on Ubuntu or Ubuntu derivatives to Install Comodo.
After you finish the installation, dont run Comodo AV. Comodo is not yet ready to be used. You need to patch few files to make Comodo work.
Step 3. Download ‘driver.tar’ from here:- http://www.bondoffamily-net.com/~kinta-chan/techknow/Linux/RedirFS/DownLoad.html to replace it with ‘driver.tar’ in /opt/COMODO/ -> (/opt/COMODO/driver.tar).
Step 4. Open terminal & execute the following commands :- (We are about to install Kernel headers as we are going to compile the RedifFS driver into the system)
=> sudo yum install automake autoconf kernel-headers kernel kernel-devel gcc make patch
=> sudo rpm -qa kernel |sort -V |tail -n 1
The output should be something like: kernel-3.9.10-100.fc17.x86_64 on Fedora as of Feb 25 2014
#Now run the following command (When asks to read the License Agreement press and hold the Enter key):
Step 5. Run the following command to activate all modules of Comodo (You must be connected to the Internet at this point as Comodo will try to initiate Virus Signature Update):
sudo /etc/init.d/cmdavd restart
If everything goes well Comodo Antivirus will restart its modules and start updating its Database.
